Assistant Director: Commissioning, Performance & Transformation

Assistant Director: Commissioning, Transformation and Performance
£88,679 - £103,255 plus a market supplement of £8,607

You’ll be the lead on strategic commissioning across Adult Social Care, Housing and Public Health, as well as taking responsibility for transformation initiatives and performance. That means you’ll have oversight of provider quality assurance, business support and governance, and business intelligence within the directorate. You’ll also play an involved role in our integrated working with Health partners – specifically around the Better Care Fund. You can expect to work in close collaboration with the directorate’s senior team and with key stakeholders in the NHS, Providers and the Voluntary Sector and other partners.

As well as being the Strategic Commissioner, other key areas of focus include developing and managing the directorate’s performance management framework and leading on our transformation strategy.

We expect that you will already be working in a senior management role within Social Care or Health and that you have an in-depth understanding of commissioning models that enable meaningful co-production with service users. You’ll have direct experience of working with suppliers and managing the commercial and quality assurance aspects of these partnerships. You should also be able to demonstrate how you have led change and improvement within your area of responsibility, paying particular attention to bringing about cultural change as well as operational improvements.

This is an ideal move for someone who wants to build on their experience to date and to step up to a broader remit to influence at a system level as well as at a service level. Therefore, an appreciation of the potential crossover between areas such as Adult Social Care, Public Health and Housing will identify you as a strong candidate.
